If you were to describe the ‘dad’ in your life, be it your father, or your spouse, how would you characterize him? Is he the ‘dad’ because he sacrifices himself to provide more for the household? Or is he ‘dad’ because of another reason? Thinking about these questions helps everyone to reflect on what their ‘dad’ has done for their family. We believe that dads aren’t always given encouragement about self-care, and with Father’s Day on the way, there is never a better time to support them to take time to relax.  

How Can Relaxing Benefit the Dad in Your Life?

Being a father figure is exhausting and in some cases all-consuming for an identity. This is why we emphasize that him finding time to relax and discover or implement a self-care plan is a necessity. It is very important for everyone to find a good plan that works for them, but we find a consistent amount of men suffering from bodily pain after working long hours for years. Finding stress relief is one of the best gifts that you can give the dad in your life. 

Our favorite relaxing plans are the ones that work. That is why we always suggest beginning any plan with a foreseeable goal. Have him try this for the next week: every day, have him stand or lay on the ground three times a day to stretch out his lower back and have him disconnect and meditate for at least 20 minutes at the end of the day. His goal at the end of the week should also be something relaxing for him, be it golf, or a restaurant, or a massage (our favorite).
